Mr. Fixit Fast was asked to provide the design direction and general contracting for a remodel of a kitchen in Allen last month. The original kitchen had a white and black checkerboard back splash, white appliances, white sink, laminate counter tops, and oak colored cabinets. We estimated that the remodel would take 14 days.
We made the following changes: The cabinets were painted white, back splash was replaced with a cream color subway tile in a brick pattern and a hand blown glass accent trim in copper on the back wall. The sink was replaced with an under mount, one drain sink in 18 gg stainless steel. The counter top was replaced with a giallo rio granite which has cream, black, brown and copper tones throughout. This update took 9 days to complete.
When considering changes in your kitchen, also consider the following:
1. hardware for the cabinets -i.e. hinges and pulls, knobs
3. painting, texturing walls, ceiling
4. electrical- GCFI outlets, under counter lighting, ceiling lights
5. custom cabinets- spice racks and trash cans
Please give us a call to schedule an appointment for a free estimate if you are considering updating your kitchen. We would love to work with you and develop your ideas for a kitchen that is both functional and beautiful.
